Hear the sum of the whole matter in the compass of one brief word / everyart possessed by man comes from Prometheus. Old Gods are gone. We are alone. Alone and dissolving amidst all the technology with which we conquered the world and shaped it in our image. Was fire from the heaven truly a gift? And what of tragedywhere the key premise is no longer of this world? The Old Gods are gone, what is the world Prometheus has woken to? Who are you? Staging a tragedy is always an act of groping. Be it for the past that possibly never was, or for the no less illusive present. Eitherway it is always already thinking and doing characterised by a lack, an error, a sense of unendurable. Today tragedy as such is no longer of this world and in opens a unique field of though and inscenation. Theatre is a technology, what world can it bring about?
